Check with orange juice and white icing

We made puddings and other sweets, so we thought we'd take it a step further. The idea for the glazed cakes came to me starting from the kind of sweets that the little ones love. Fluffy countertop smeared with chocolate. I took out additives, I took out - at least in this recipe and chocolate. and I left the fluffy stick and icing. What came out is the cake with orange juice and white icing.

As it was in the case of puddings, this cake has several brothers that we will present one by one.

To make the cake with orange juice and white icing you need 140 grams of butter, 175 grams of sugar, four oranges, 100 grams of dried apricots, 200 grams of raisins, 300 grams of flour, a sachet of powder baking powder, a pinch of salt, 100 grams of almond flakes, two egg whites. For the icing: an egg white, a tablespoon of lemon juice, 250 grams of powdered sugar.

Put in a bowl, butter, sugar, dried fruit (apricots and raisins) and orange juice with the pulp. Put everything on the fire, heat it a little and mix it so that the sugar melts. Let everything simmer for about 10 minutes. Set aside and let cool.

Mix the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt, add a teaspoon of grated orange peel and almond flakes, then incorporate the flour into the mixture with butter, mix well. Beat the egg whites and add them to the composition, stirring slowly.

Put the composition in the pan, and bake the cake on the right heat, in the preheated oven, for about 60 minutes. Let the cake cool in its tray, then take it out on a plate.

The icing is prepared as follows: lightly beat the egg white with a fork, so that it dissolves a little, but without frothing, add the powdered sugar and mix well until smooth. Add the lemon juice and pour the icing over the cake. Leave it at room temperature until it hardens. If you want the glaze layer to be thicker, prepare a new portion of glaze, which you pour over the cake, after the first layer has hardened well.

Tip: the remaining orange peel, you can keep it in a jar that closes tightly, along with a little sugar. In this way you can use it in other dishes.

Enjoy your family with an extremely tasty fasting cake with oranges! INGREDIENTS

-100 ml of refined sunflower oil

-1 teaspoon of 70% vinegar

-1 teaspoon baking soda

METHOD OF PREPARATION

1. Wash the orange well with very hot water, then dry it. Apply the orange peel through the small grater: only the orange part (try not to touch the white part, which gives a bitter taste). Then cut the orange into 2 parts and squeeze the juice.

2. Sprinkle the sugar in a deep bowl and pour the refined oil, mix well. Then add the grated orange peel, water and orange juice, mix. Extinguish the baking soda with vinegar and add it to the bowl. Gradually sprinkle the sifted flour and cinnamon, mix the dough. Wash the raisins well, dry them and mix them with a tablespoon of flour.

3. Put the raisins in the dough and mix. Grease the cake tin with oil and sprinkle lightly with flour. Shape the dough and distribute it evenly. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 1 hour. Allow the cake to cool and turn it over on a plate.

4. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and grated orange peel for a nicer look and serve. You can decorate the cake with icing powdered sugar: mix a tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice with 5 teaspoons of powdered sugar, mix until you get a smooth meal. Quickly grease the top of the icing cake.

Bread check

The dish I want to present to you, I had on a piece of paper, forgotten between the pages of an agenda.
You will realize that I don't even know where I wrote the recipe from! So I did as it was written in the textbook in question.

-4 slices of bagel
-3 eggs
-4 tablespoons sugar
-150 ml of milk
-an envelope of chocolate pudding
-2 tablespoons flour
-2 tablespoons cocoa
-candied fruits (I made with what I had in the house: candied orange peel and some almonds>
For decoration: almond flakes and orange peel.

The picture with the ingredients is missing the sugar, as I said, it was not in the recipe, but I advise you to put it, otherwise the cake will not be sweet at all.

The bread soaked in milk, we squeeze it, but not too hard and we break it in a bowl, in bigger pieces.

Over the bread we will add the pudding powder, flour and cocoa.
Mix lightly, then add the candied fruits, incorporating them as well.

We separate the eggs, we beat the egg whites hard with the sugar, after the foam is beaten, we incorporate the yolks, it is easy not to leave foam.
We mix the whole composition lightly with the bread mixture.

Put everything in a cake pan and put in the preheated oven over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

When it was ready, with the syrup in which I boiled the orange peel, I syruped the cake, only the almond flakes were well fixed, with which I decorated it.

It's a very good cake in the morning for a coffee or even a snack between meals!

Dutch check

Ingredients needed for Dutch cake:

  • 2-3 apples
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g butter
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 tablespoons flour
  • a cinnamon powder
  • half a teaspoon of baking powder
  • a sachet of vanilla sugar

Dutch cake preparation method:

Peel an apple, grate it and slice it with 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon. Leave it like this for about an hour (NOT on the fire! Set it aside on the kitchen table).

The butter at room temperature is mixed with the rest of the sugar and vanilla sugar, then whole eggs, baking powder and flour are added in turn. The result is a dough similar to that of pandispan, but a bit thicker.

Put it in a cake pan greased with oil (I would recommend lined with baking paper, greased with oil) then put the apple slices (not like I did!) Tightly glued to each other, so as not to tub at the bottom of the tray, but stay upright, as you placed them (which I did not do, and that's why I found the apples on the bottom of the tray when I overturned the cake).

Put the tray in the hot oven, over medium heat for about an hour, or until it passes the toothpick test. After removing the tray from the oven, let it cool for 10-15 minutes, then remove the cake from the tray. After that you can portion and serve.

Even if the apples do not stay on the surface, it is a very tasty and aromatic cake.

Method of preparation:

Grate the orange peel, then make the orange juice. The butter (previously kept at room temperature to soften) is mixed with sugar and then beaten until it becomes a homogeneous composition. Add eggs, beat well until completely incorporated, then add the orange peel and the juice obtained from the two oranges. Mix, then add the milk and flour in the rain, until the composition thickens and flows hard from the spoon (it must have the consistency of cream). Finally add the baking powder and raisins and mix again.
Prepare two trays by covering them with baking paper, then divide the cake composition evenly, pouring it into the trays, then put it in the hot oven. After 45 minutes, check if it is baked, using a skewer or a toothpick.
